Design and engineering are one job. The handoff between them is where most products go to die.

Hey — I'm Lukas, a developer and founder from Sweden with a bit of a builder obsession. I grew up in Malmö taking things apart to see how they worked. Circuits first, then code, then whole products. The tools kept changing; the instinct never did. I've lived and worked across Argentina, Uruguay, the US and Spain.
Somewhere along the way I learned to fly — licences in the US and Argentina. Flight training is expensive, so I took on client work to pay for it. That side hustle became ThernLoven, and over the next few years it went from just me to a thirteen-person agency with a global client base. I ran it as CEO across both the engineering and the design side until EPICVision acquired us in early 2025.
I joined EPICVision as COO through that acquisition, spent a year aligning the development and marketing sides of the business, then moved to the board. I still hold 20% of it.
Which means I'm back where I actually like being: at the keyboard. I design the product and I build it, from the first sketch to the servers it runs on. That's the whole job as far as I'm concerned.

Three ways this usually goes
Alongside my own products I take on a small amount of outside work. It usually falls into one of three shapes.
Technical advisor
Algiz — protection
A second opinion on the calls that are expensive to get wrong.
- Architecture and build-vs-buy calls
- Reviewing a roadmap that's drifted
- Hiring and structuring an engineering team
- Due diligence on a product or a stack
Teams who need a sounding board more often than they need another pair of hands.
Design & build
Kenaz — the torch · craft
Apps, websites and SaaS taken from a blank page to something running in production.
- Native iOS, watchOS and Android
- Web apps and marketing sites
- SaaS products — auth, billing, the whole spine
- Brand and interface design alongside the build
People who'd rather work with one person across design and engineering than manage a handoff between two.
Technical co-founder
Ingwaz — the seed
Going in properly — equity, ownership of the technical direction, and the risk that comes with it.
- Taking an idea to a shipped first version
- Owning architecture and technical hiring
- Building the team as the thing grows
- Staying for the unglamorous middle
A couple of ventures a year, where the problem is interesting and the commitment goes both ways.
Not sure which of these you need? Say what you're building and I'll tell you straight — including if the answer is that you don't need me.

Four disciplines, one pair of hands
Most products die in the handoff between design and engineering. I removed the handoff.

Nights and weekends
Small apps built for the pleasure of building them. Most are free on the App Store; a couple aren't out yet.
Punto
—Padel, scored from your wrist
A padel scorekeeper that is only a watch app — no phone, no companion target. Two colour panels fill the screen so you never aim: tap yours to score, hold to undo. Double Tap proposes a point and gives you five seconds to send it the other way instead, which is the only way to serve both teams from the single hand gesture watchOS exposes.
Whip It!
—Recipes as diagrams
Recipes drawn the way Cooking for Engineers does it — a merge table where ingredients flow left to right into the steps that combine them, so you can see the shape of a dish instead of parsing prose. 10,953 recipes ship inside the app as SQLite, so it works with the network off; a Cloudflare Worker over Neon handles sign-in and saves. The trees were AI-extracted and then mechanically validated.

Malmö to Barcelona, the long way
Two pilot licences, an agency built and sold, and a lot of shipped software. Roughly in order.

Where it starts
Born curious in the south of Sweden. Took things apart to see how they worked, then started putting new ones together. First circuits, then code.

Flight school — and a company to pay for it
Private Pilot Licence at American Aviation Academy, FAA-certified in October 2021. Flight training is expensive, so I started taking on client work to fund it. That side hustle turned out to be the beginning of ThernLoven.

Second pilot certification, this time from ANAC in Argentina. Buenos Aires and Córdoba became home for a while — and Argentina became the market a lot of the later work was built for.

ThernLoven — solo venture to a 13-person agency
What started as a way to pay for flight training became a company. As CEO I led the zero-to-one growth phase, scaling from just me to a team of thirteen while heading both technical development and design strategy. We built robust technical products, established a global presence, and in early 2025 the company was acquired by EPICVision.

COO through the acquisition
Joined EPICVision in March 2025 as part of the ThernLoven acquisition. As COO I ran company operations alongside the executive team, focused on aligning the development and marketing departments to drive strategic growth. After a year of integration and operational scaling I moved to a board-level role, and retain 20% ownership.

Back to building
Off the operating line and back at the keyboard. I co-founded Docunarrio — private, on-premise AI that lets aviation crews ask their manuals and SOPs a question instead of searching them, built to EASA guidelines. Which is a strange kind of full circle: the licences from a decade earlier turned into the domain I now build for. Alongside it I co-own Kali, take on design and product work through Fuki Studio, and keep my own things in flight — Lumen for streaming, PickApp for carpooling in Argentina.
ᛞDagaz — Daybreak
Present tense
Off the operating line and back at the keyboard. Two companies I own a piece of, a few products of my own, and the same job underneath all of it — building end to end, from the first sketch to the servers it runs on. Here's what that actually looks like right now.

Plex and Jellyfin are excellent, right up until you realise they expect you to own and maintain a server. Lumen is the same idea with the hardware removed: drag a file in, and it's streaming to every screen you own a few minutes later.
Uploads get transcoded automatically, matched against TMDB for posters, cast and ratings, and handed subtitles — so a folder of badly-named files turns into something that looks like a library. No port forwarding, no setup, no box humming in a cupboard.
I engineered the whole stack: a Rust desktop app doing local video transcoding and perceptual hashing before anything is uploaded, native clients for Apple TV, smart TVs and mobile, and zero-egress cloud infrastructure underneath — which is the only reason the economics work at these prices.
- Rust desktop app — local transcoding and perceptual hashing
- Drag-and-drop uploads — MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV
- TMDB metadata matching for posters, cast and ratings
- Native clients for Apple TV, smart TVs, iOS and Android
- Zero-egress cloud infrastructure
- Free tier at 50GB; paid tiers to 1TB
